Colorful Makeup Trends for Spring and Summer 2022

Spring is here, and as you change up your look for spring and summer, don’t forget the details! Not only is it a perfect time for a new hairstyle or hair color, but your makeup style needs to change as well to go along with all the spring-like colors in your warm-weather wardrobe. 

It’s also time to take a look at all the trending makeup styles we’re seeing on the spring 2022 runways – and there are plenty of them to inspire a new look for yourself.

  • 90s style lip liner. This year, we’re seeing a lot of hairstyle trends that celebrate the 90s style with a modern twist, like the shag, the updated mullet, and more. Makeup trends are following that lead, including that outlined lip liner look that was trending high in the 90s. For 2022, pair your favorite lip liner color with a neutral shade to fill in the rest of your lips.
     
  • Coral. Lighter, almost-nude shades are perfect for spring. We’re seeing a trend toward coral, which is a great shade for both your cheeks and lips. The result is a natural look that highlights your best features with a minimalistic style. 
     
  • Color/sparkle eyes. Eye shadow is fun to experiment with, and we’re seeing a huge trend this spring that’s also lots of fun. It’s all about choosing a bright, playful color that matches your outfit and using that around the inner corner of the eye, then highlighting the rest of your eyelid with a shimmering glitter tone. This fun and popular trend really bring out the color, and that’s a perfect look for spring. 
     
  • High-gloss lips. Your lips are one of your best assets, and this trend helps show them off with tons of high-gloss magic for a shimmering look that catches the eye in any light. Try a dark berry shade or a light coral as the base and add high-gloss shine for a fantastic spring and summer look.
     
  • Graphic liner. This is a unique trend that takes the boring out of eyeliner while letting it soar to new heights! Instead of applying only dark colors at the lash line, opt for some bright pastel colors and line the tops of your eyelids in sleek lines and graphic designs. It’s a fun look that will definitely get you noticed and one that will complement your spring outfits!
     
  • Embellishments. We’re seeing lots of jewel embellishments on almost everything – handbags, shoes, belts, tops, pants – but did you know that there are special embellishments you can use on your face to accent your makeup look? Use some sparkling crystal face jewels to add a gorgeous accent to your eyes, cheeks, and even lips for a fun new look for spring.
